Yes. The blue cover with the full moon and the corkboard, Juno with the magnifying glass, Pixel in his deerstalker, the case of the day: this is that book. Catch the Halloween Thief! Detective Puzzle Book for Kids by Cork & Pin Press is a Halloween book with a real mystery inside.

How a case works
Every day of this detective puzzle book for kids follows the same four steps, so a child learns the routine once and then spends the time thinking.
1. Read the day.
Each case opens with the date, the piece of the parade that went missing, and the clues. The last clue is never printed on the case page.
2. Earn the last clue.
The puzzle page hands it over. One day it is a scene to search, the next a pair of matching shoe prints, a coded note, four witnesses, or a costume that does not add up.
3. Cross the list.
The day's suspects are printed right there. The clues knock names out until one child is left, and that child took today's piece.
4. Feed the wall.
Almost every case also gives one line about the big thief behind all 24 days. It goes on the Evidence Wall, and on Halloween night the wall and the finale point to one name.
It gets harder on purpose. The first case has 7 suspects and the last has 14, and from October 20 one witness tells a story the suspect files do not back up.
Every case ends with a Trick or Treat extra: a Halloween riddle, a joke, a tongue twister or a memory game.
"Do not guess. Guessing is fast and wrong. Reading is slow and right."
If your child gets stuck, help is printed upside down at the foot of the puzzle page, and the case has its own check page two page turns on. Nobody has to wait for you to get home.

Most children's books for Halloween are read to a child. This one is solved by them.
Who it is for
- Your child is 7 or older, reads on their own, and likes being the one who figures it out.
- They love codes, seek-and-find pictures, spot-the-difference and anything with a secret.
- You want a calm 15-minute October habit that is not a screen.
- You are filling a boo basket and want something that lasts longer than the candy.
- There is a second detective in the house: the free kit has spare pages to print so two can play.
Who it is not for
- Children who are not reading full sentences yet. There is real reading on every page, so a younger child needs a grown-up reading aloud.
- Anyone hoping for a scary book. Nothing frightening happens, and nobody is hurt.
- Anyone expecting a box calendar. There are no doors and no treats inside, just cases on paper.
- Families who want a coloring or sticker book. There are pictures to search, but this is a reading and logic book.
The paperback interior prints in black and white.
A Halloween gift that is not candy
It fits in a boo basket, lasts all of October, and asks for nothing but a pencil. For a niece, a grandchild or a classroom shelf, the hardcover is the sturdier choice.

A free Halloween Kit for parents
Page 127 of the book holds a code for a free kit of spare pages: a clean Evidence Wall, a clean tracker for all 48 names, six blank case cards for inventing your own day 25, a costume parade checklist for the real October, and a large-print answer key so you can help without reading ahead.
No email, no account, no sign-up. The book is complete without it.
The code is inside the book, on page 127.

Cork & Pin Press is an imprint name, not a person. Its books are published by Kalderno (Quicktale Limited). The covers spell it Cork and Pin Press.
Questions parents ask
Is this the Halloween Thief book from TikTok?
Yes. Catch the Halloween Thief! Detective Puzzle Book for Kids by Cork & Pin Press is the book in the TikTok videos with Juno, Pixel and the case of the day. It is a real 134-page book, sold on Amazon as a paperback and a hardcover.
We publish this book. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
What age is Catch the Halloween Thief for?
It is for ages 7 and up, which is about 3rd to 5th grade. Every clue is written out, so it suits children who read on their own. A younger detective can play along if a grown-up reads the case pages aloud.
How does the 24-day Halloween countdown work?
There is one dated case for each day from October 8 to October 30, and a finale on Halloween night, October 31. A case takes about 15 minutes: read the day, solve the puzzle page to earn the last clue, cross suspects off the list, and write one line about the big thief on the Evidence Wall.
We are starting after October 8. Does it still work?
Yes. The cases carry dates, but nothing in a paper book locks you out. Work the missed cases in order, at whatever pace suits you, until you reach today's date. Keep them in order, because the Halloween night finale uses what your detective noted in the cases before it. The book works just as well in any later October.
Are the answers in the book?
Yes. Every case has its own check page two page turns after the puzzle, and help for a stuck detective is printed upside down at the foot of each puzzle page. The free kit for grown-ups adds a large-print answer key, so you can help without reading ahead.
Is it a box calendar with doors?
No. It is a paperback or hardcover puzzle book with dated cases. There is nothing to tear open and no candy inside. The countdown happens on the page, with a pencil.
Is it a good Halloween gift that is not candy?
Yes. It is a Halloween gift that lasts all of October, fits in a boo basket and needs nothing but a pencil. The hardcover is the sturdier choice if it is a present.
Does my child need a screen, an app or an account?
No. Every case, clue and answer is printed in the book. The only online part is the optional free kit of spare pages for grown-ups, which opens in a browser with no email, no account and no sign-up.
Is it scary?
No. The crime is a theft of parade props. Nobody is hurt and nothing frightening happens, so it suits children who love Halloween but not horror.
Paperback or hardcover, which should I get?
Both have the same 134 pages, and your detective writes in the book either way. The paperback is a 6 by 9 inch softcover printed in black and white. The hardcover is the sturdier binding if the book is a gift.
